Liked it but not as much as other readers.

The Poppy War - R. F Kuang

I thought the book was pretty good. I loved the world building and the History of the past wars. But I didn't really care about any of the characters. Rin drove me nuts, I felt like she rushed into a lot of things, without thinking things through first. I know people would say its because she's young. But I don't think that was the case, at least for things she does later in the book.

I really didn't like Altan either, and I wonder why Rin acted the way she did around him. There are a lot of trigger Warnings in this book, rape, torture, self harm, to name a few.

I did like it enough that I do want to read the next one, that comes out in August. Especially after how the book ended.

I would recommend this book, but look into all the other trigger warnings, that I didn't mention above, because there's definitely a lot more than what I did list.

Just might be my favorite Book of the Year.

Thunderhead - Neal Shusterman

I freaking loved this book and what a hell of a ride. I just couldn't believe all that went down throughout the whole book. And that ending, how did Neal Shusterman, come up with that cliffhanger ending? I just can't wait to find out when Toll is coming out, especially after that ending.

Still freaking love Rowan like crazy. I love someone that can be complex and have some badness in them. But you know that they have a soft side to them as well.

I also liked Citra a lot more in this book  than I did in scythe. And I loved the new character, not going to say the persons name, in case you haven't read the story yet. But I wonder what is going to happen with this person next.

Another fun Read.

Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow - Jessica Townsend

I really loved this book and I really love the characters and the plot. Probably one of my favorite middle grade book. I couldn't believe how much fun I had reading the book. I loved that I started the book yesterday morning and finished it this morning. I can see why some readers compare this book to Harry Potter, but at the same time, you can tell that the author isn't trying to be Harry Potter. And I freaking loved it for that reason, but also just because it was a really good book and really enjoyable. If you want to read a book that will only take a day or two to read and not take it so seriously, but won't bore you either. Than this book might be the book for you.

WOW this book was definitely worth the Hype!!!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid

I really don't know what to say about this book but boy did it have me freaking crying. While the character Evelyn Hugo had a lot of flaws, I freaking loved her, and what a freaking life she had. My favorite of her husband's was definitely Harry.

I just loved the book so much and it was so nice to love a book so much that wasn't fantasy or scifi. I do love both of those genres, but once in a while you want to branch out of your comfort zone and go and try to jump into the ocean.

So this is one book I feel that was worth the hype.

Disappointed Me.

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air) - Holly Black

I was so disappointed in this book, I really thought it was going to be such an awesome book, but that so wasn't the case. I will continue on in the series, because I love to give books another chance, especially if it's a start of a series. But if the wicked King also let's me down, I won't read the last one.

I really didn't care for any of the characters. Whenever I start to like Jude again, she goes and does something that makes me not like her again.

I have a love hate relationship with Cardan, his a bully but he also has times especially towards the end, that you can see that he does have a sensitive side to him.

I can't stand Jude's twin sister at all. The only character I really like a lot is Vivi.

I do love that it shows that fae have a vindictive personality. And they don't sugarcoat it. The ending is what makes me want to continue on with the series.

Reading progress update: I've read 128 out of 370 pages.

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air) - Holly Black

Ok I decided to do a reread of this book, so I could decide how to rate it. I am about 1/3% done, but so far, I am still not sure how I am feeling about this book. Does anyone feel the same way about this book? The only person I am liking right now is Vivi. I really don't like Jude at all, or her twin. And I am not sure how I am feeling about Cardan. And especially his so called friends.

Better than the first time around.

Crown of Midnight - Sarah J. Maas

Really enjoyed my reread much better than the first read. The first time I read it, I gave it 4, even though it was more like a 3 1/2 star read.

My favorite character is definitely Dorian, like always, I just freaking love my Prince so much. Chaol still isn't my favorite character and he does some really stupid things, but I still feel sorry for him. Either choice he made, he would still be screwed. Celeane I still have a love hate relationship with, I do feel sorry for her, in regards to all that happens to her throughout this book. I also paid a lot more attention to the book this time around. I love what we find out about Dorian in this book. I am going to start probably in the next couple of weeks Heir of fire, which was my favorite book, my first time reading the series. So I am excited to see if I feel the same thing this time.

Cute little read

The Complete Adventures of Charlie and Mr. Willy Wonka[COMP ADV OF CHARLIE & MR WILLY][Paperback] - RoaldDahl

So far I only read the first book, which is willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. I didn't read the glass elevator one, but I will be next week. If I decide to do a update review, it wouldn't be until next year. I will probably just do a review for just this story.

I really enjoyed the first story it was just a funny cute little read and perfect for a readathon, the readathon I read it for was, #tistheseasonathon.

Favorite character like always are Charlie and his grandfather grandpa Joe. This is the first time I have ever read the book, I have watched the movie (the one with Johnny Depp,) so many times. I always love the different ways the naughty kids get their just reward. It was a book that I really needed for the Holiday season.

Very disappointing read for me.

Shadow of The Fox - Julie Kagawa

When I heard about this book and finding out that there was going to be an assassin in it and a mysterious scroll(sorry if I spelled the word wrong,) in it. I thought it would be my type of book, boy even my friend that I was buddy reading it with, though I was going to love it. My friend didn't even finish it, and the only reason I didn't dnf it is because I was also reading it for a readathon I was participating in.

My main problem was I think the author was trying to give you a lot of information at one time. The problem is that so much stuff was going on and my mind couldn't process it all. So I was very confused on what was going on.  I thought the characters were ok, my favorite character was Kage who was the assassin and also had a sword that had a demon inside of it. I forgot what the main girl character name was. She was an okay character, but not a favorite character.

I did love the different places we got to visit and some of the characters we meet on the way.

After saying all of that, I do think I will try and read the second book, because I really loved how it ended. But I wouldn't have it on my must have books list.

Loved this book the second time around even more!!!

Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Maas

I read the series before but I will be rereading one book each month from the series, to see how I feel this time around.

I really loved the characters so much more this time around, even though Dorian is still my favorite character in this book. I know that might be an unpopular opinion but I love characters that aren't perfect and I love guys who are considered "playboys," who really have a sensitive side. I really don't consider him a player at all, but I know some readers do. I also love his friendship with Celaena.

Celaena I still get mad at a lot, I really feel like she was just using Dorian, not the friendship part but the relationship part. I really liked Celaena and Chaol's relationship a lot more this time around. Last time I didn't care at all for there relationship and I didn't really care for Chaol. The first time around I just was like okay his just there, and the only thing I liked about him the first time around was his friendship with Dorian. I actually felt more of a chemistry between Dorian and him. Of course not in a sexual way, but as brothers. If they didn't think about themselves as brothers then, I wouldn't have minded them as a couple. But they definitely had a Bromance going on that is freaking awesome.

I thought Celaena for being an assassin was pretty stupid at times. And I really wish she would have used that skill set more. I did like the ending but of course you could know what was going to happen. Even if it is your first time reading the book.

Favorite scene was the library scene with her and Chaol. And when she wanted to read some books, and the note she sent someone, to get permission. And of course my absolute favorite part with the puppy.

Favorite side characters Nox and Nehemiah, (sorry if I spelled her name wrong. )

A Cute short read.

Angel And Bavar - Amy Wilson

So this is a retailing of beauty and the beast for 8 thur 12 year olds. Its definitely a different take on the beauty and the beast story that's for sure. If you're in a mood to be a kid for a day or 2 than you should read this book. The book is nothing earthshaking but I enjoy the plot. And I really loved both Angel and Bavar. Bavar is my favorite of the two, but I think that's because he doesn't want to do what he knows he needs to do, but his got that call in his veins. Angel is the one that wants to fight and if you read the book, you'll find out why Angel wants to fight and Bavar doesn't. I only gave it 3 1/2 *, because it was a little young for me, which of course is because I am way past the age group for this book. Also just because I wish a few things were better explained and I wanted to know how one certain thing tied up. But it was a fun read, had characters you could really root for. And there were some funny moments that had me totally cracking up. So I am glad I bought and read this cute little read. I started the book yesterday, I could have finished it the same day but I wanted it to last just a little bit longer. Which is exactly what a book should make you want to do.

So far, my favorite book still.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - J.K. Rowling

So I haven't read the series, in about 15 or 16 years, so I am doing a reread of the series. This month I am reading Goblet of fire and the order of the Phoenix. But now onto the review of my favorite book in the series.

Boy it's been so long since I read this, that I forgot how much I freaking loved this book. I also forgot, so many freaking details. And I forgot how much I freaking loved this book. I swear the book just kept me on my toes, and I caught myself gasping at certain parts in the book, that I completely forgot happened.

I think one of the reasons I love this one so much is for one reason, the 3 bestfriends, after this book, really starts to lose their innocence. And #2, Siras black and Rupin!!!!!

I am just so happy that I love the book even more than the first time I read it, so very long ago. I can't wait to continue on with the series, even though they get darker and darker. Which is a good thing Because that's the way it should go.

Loved it and can't wait to read Muse of nightmares.

Strange the Dreamer - Laini Taylor

I loved this book a lot more than I thought I would. I will say until I got use to the author's writing style, the book really dragged for me. But after that and some setting up of the story, the book took off for me. And once that happened, i couldn't and didn't even want to put the book down.

I loved Lazlo and Saria a lot, Lazlo was definitely my favorite thou. I loved that he had a very active imagination and he loves to read books. I have to say I didn't see that ending happening, even though it shouldn't have really surprised me but it still did. I can't wait to see how everything ends, but I am also scared at the same time.

Another reread that was even better than the first time around!!!!

Illuminae - Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufman

Just like Scythe, illuminae is another book I wanted to reread before the New year begins.

I just love the character of Kady what a badass she turns out to be in this book, I loved that she wasn't winne and she did thinks for herself and didn't need a man to save her.

I really also loved Ezra as well, but I wish we got actually scenes with them together but I still loved the banter between them. And I loved the parts we get with Ezra.

Since this is a reread, I won't go really into review mood for this review here today.

I will say I am definitely going to reread the other two books in the series, but unless I can find the time, than it will be sometime in the upcoming months.

Better than the first time!!!

Scythe - Neal Shusterman

Actually this one was a reread for me, to get me ready to start the next book.

The book is better than I remember it, and that makes me happy

Why does that make me feel happy? Because I already know I loved it, but I forgot how much, until I read it again. I freaking love both Citra, and especially Rowan. My other review is up still, so I am not going to do another full review. I am so excited to start Thunder head, sometime before the middle of the month, so you'll find out what I feel about the book pretty soon.

A very disappointing read.

Ink - Alice Broadway

I really don't know what to say about this book, I was really looking forward to it and it totally let me down. I really didn't like any of the characters, and I felt it took a really long time to get to the plot. I was so bored that I found myself skipping ahead, just so I could get to the end. And I didn't know it wasn't a standalone, so it surprised me, when just as it was starting to get interesting, the book was done. And I just have no desire to pick up the next book, to find out what happens next. I still think I might be being nice given the book 2 1/2 stars.
