Lost Girls by Merrie Destefano Publication Date: January 3, 2017 Publisher: Entangled Teen Fight Club meets Black Swan—Rachel wakes up in a ditch to find she doesn’t remember the last year of her life, and that everything—including herself—is vastly different than she remembers. Yesterday, Rachel went to sleep listening to Taylor Swift, curled up in her grammy’s quilt, worrying about geometry. Today, she woke up in a ditch, bloodied, bruised, and missing a year of her life. She doesn’t recognize the person she’s become: she’s popular. She wears nothing but black. Black to cover the blood. And she can fight. Tell no one. She’s not the only girl to go missing within the last year…but she’s the only girl to come back. She desperately wants to unravel what happened to her, to try and recover the rest of the Lost Girls. But the more she discovers, the more her memories return. And as much as her new life scares her, it calls to her. Seductively. The good girl gone bad, sex, drugs, and raves, and something darker…something she still craves—the rush of the fight, the thrill of the win—something she can’t resist, that might still get her killed… The only rule is: There are no rules.
My Review
This book is definitely a book that I normally wouldn't pick to read, but I am so super excited that I took a chance to read it. I freaking loved this book to pieces. I wanted to know what happened to Rachel just as much as she did. Boy could she freaking kickbutt big time. I loved her relationship with her brother but her and her father's relationship really was fantastic. I wouldn't want to get on his bad side.
I also really loved her boyfriend Dylan so freaking much, he was a freaking bad-ass as well. And I loved what he did at the end for Rachel, just loved that so much. I liked that he had a dark side, but a loving and romantic one also.
I also loved her friend Molly, who even after Rachel pushed her away still wanted to help her find out what happened as well. I liked some of her new friends such as Zoe, and Stephanie.
The mystery of what happened to Rachel, I figured out some of it but not all. I really loved finding out all that happened to her. I thought the ending was awesome as well. Only thing I didn't like was that Rachel didn't something towards the end that she knew she shouldn't do, but she still did it anyways. But it had to happen, so what followed could take place. So I will forgive her for that.
I would definitely recommend this book to people that love a book that has a girl that can kick ass. And for people that love a good mystery. It's really an awesome and exciting book to read. I would definitely read it, if I was you.
