I thought the book was pretty good for the first one in a series. I really loved the two love interest Markus and Crystal. I love that Markus wants to be a wizard. I feel so bad that Crystal's parents were taken away from her.
The book started out really slow and I really wasn't sure if I was going to like it or even feel like finishing the book. I am glad I didn't give up on the book. I hope the next book which I have and will read later has more action and adventure. This one had some but it was more about setting up the storyline.
